The story of Aizada Duishenbekova from Talas

Women can be successful both in their family life and running a business. As people say “It works both ways.” Aizada Duishenbekova made it become true.

Duishenbekova Aizada (a resident of Orto-Aryk village, Talas district) and her husband are engaged in cattle breeding and growing agricultural products for 13 years.

The income from sale of dairy products helps to provide the family and develop the business.

Today, Aizada is a young mother of seven children with the title "Baatyr ene" (Mother Heroine). Her eldest son is 16 years old, he is a student, and the youngest daughter is only 10 months old. In their family there are also schoolchildren and small children who need to be constantly looked after. Children grow and they need new clothes, school supplies and other things, so parents need to have a good income. Many women in the regions find it difficult to find a job close to home, as they would not want to leave their children unattended for a whole day. As they face with such difficulties, Aizada and her husband decided to start cattle breeding.

“I am very grateful to my mother Atyrkul Duishenbekova, who supported me all the time and believed in me. It was she who prompted and offered to take a risk and take a loan for the development of cattle breeding,” Aizada said.

According to Aizada, her mother herself was a client of KICB for a long time and recommended it to her daughter. It is difficult to breed a cattle and make this business profitable without crediting (additional funds).

Having arrived to the bank, Aizada learned about the special offer "Mykty Aiym" from KICB under the EBRD program "Women in Business in Central Asia" and decided to take the opportunity and took a loan to expand the development of cattle breeding.

Aizada was pleasantly surprised by favorable loan conditions for women-entrepreneurs.

After they have received the loan Aizada and her husband doubled the number of cattle and, by selling the offspring, began to receive more income, which allows them to build a house for their large family.

Since childhood Aizada has had a favorite pastime - sewing. Her grandmother instilled her passion to sewing and taught her basic skills in this kind of needlework. Thanks to the efforts, perseverance, and income received from the development of the livestock business, Aizada was able to make her old dream become true and bought a sewing machine. She gladly began to do what she loves, which brings her family a stable additional income, and for her the joy of self-expression. Aizada takes orders at home for sewing festive uniforms for schoolchildren, costumes for various celebrations, dowries for girls (Kyzga sep) and much more. Sewing a dowry for brides is a long and painstaking work, a lot of effort, time and creativity must be spent on each product. “When you do work with love and the result is appropriate”: our heroine Aizada shares her thoughts. She sews all orders according to individual design and any complexity.

In future, Aizada dreams of opening her own sewing workshop and creating new jobs for women from her village. She is actively engaged in self-development, she plans to improve her knowledge and develop further, attend trainings and seminars that KICB bank conducts free of charge for women entrepreneurs as part of the EBRD's Women in Business program. In this Aizada is supported by her large family.

“It means a success and a biggest victory for me when I hear laughter and joy in a house”: Aizada says.

The story of our heroine proves that being a woman, you can successfully develop your business, take care of your family, do what you love and be a wonderful mother and a beloved wife.
