Students awarded KICB’s Kwang Young Choi scholarship for higher education
KICB has officially concluded the annual competitive selection process for the Kwang Young Choi scholarship program.
Based on the selection results for the 2026–2027 academic year, 31 students from 17 higher and secondary vocational educational institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic were awarded the scholarship. KICB disbursed a total of 2 million som, transferring the funds directly to the accounts of the educational institutions.
The Kwang Yang Choi scholarship program was established on August 19, 2024, to support talented young people from socially vulnerable backgrounds who require financial assistance—including those without parental care, those from single-parent or large families, and individuals with disabilities—by enabling them to pursue higher or specialized secondary vocational education. The scholarship covers tuition costs of up to 1,000 US dollars per academic year, applicable only to educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan.
The bank aims to support talented young people by providing them with the opportunity to pursue specialized secondary or higher education and qualify for their desired profession. Subject to maintaining a high level of academic performance, the program allows for the scholarship to be extended into subsequent years.
