KICB Supports Women’s Participation in the Digital Economy
The Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank (KICB) was a partner of the forum “Digital Skills for All. New Faces”, which took place on April 20 in Bishkek. The event was organized by the Public Charity Fund “Kyrgyz Technowomen” with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic and was timed to coincide with the International Day of “Girls in ICT”, established by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The forum gathered more than 300 participants, including representatives from IT companies, educational institutions, international organizations, the business community, and public initiatives from Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. The main focus was on the development of digital skills among women and youth, women’s participation in STEM and digital entrepreneurship, as well as inclusivity and digital security.
KICB is actively implementing digital solutions, making banking services accessible, fast, and secure. Special attention is given to supporting women — both among clients and within the bank’s team.
In partnership with the EBRD, KICB is implementing the “Mykty Ayim” program, aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs. It combines financial support and training, creating opportunities for sustainable business growth. It is noteworthy that more than half of KICB’s staff are women, including specialists in digital technologies. This confirms that women’s participation in the development of the digital economy is not an abstraction, but a reality.
Expanding access to digital knowledge, increasing literacy in data and cybersecurity — this contributes to our collective future.
